Leland & Jerry Bell Dazz

RCA Recording Artist Jerry Bell Dazz was looking for musicians to perform live club dates to promote his "Winter Wonderland" Release on RCA.   Jerry met Leland through a referral from CBS Artist, Eleanor Academia, aka The Black Swan and a mutual respect was born with Jerry and Leland.  Leland made appearances with Jerry for over a year.

Jerry performed throughout the LA - Hollywood area for a number of months before deciding to take his act overseas to Osaka, Japan.   Jerry's band was increased for the Japan tour with the addition of Saxophonist, Cal Bennett  and back up vocalist Jerry Davis.

In Osaka, Jerry and the band's  live performances drew huge audience numbers filling the Hotel and Supper Club for over 7 months.  Several major record industry people were in attendance throughout this period including Stevie Wonder and members of his "Wonderland" band, who also came and sat in with the band to play both Stevie's tunes and some fusion jazz.

In fact, a local Japanese patron brought legendary guitarist, Jeff "Skunk" Baxter out to visit the jazz set where both Leland and Cal Bennett were the featured soloists performing original jazz compositions, as well as tunes by Pat Metheny, Chick Corea, Grover Washington Jr. and others.

Upon returning to the United States, Jerry and the band performed for a few more months before Jerry launched into his next writing and recording project, and Leland was used as a guitarist and writer.

Leland was asked to come back to perform in Bermuda right after Jerry's project was completed.
